Owner Bernie Mullin, PhD, is recognized as the pioneer in sport marketing and ticket sales. As far back as 1993, Sports Illustrated portrayed him as the “The Guru of Ticket Sales”. Bernie founded The Aspire Group in 2008 after thirty years of experience as a chief executive or senior director in iconic sport and entertainment organizations.
In 2011, The Startup Store was brought in to help clean up the QuickBooks that his high-growth startup had left behind. Such project work led to recurring quarterly reporting and analysis in 2012. By 2013, Bernie had over 200 employees at 37 locations across 3 continents – many at various fan relationship management centers backed by intelligent e-marketing. The astonishing growth earned The Aspire Group an Atlanta Business Chronicle 2013 Pacesetter Award for being the 9th fastest growing company in the Atlanta region.
Regardless of The Aspire Group’s growth, cash flow was being severely challenged by slow-paying universities. Bernie asked if The Startup Store could also assist by pulling together a 60-page Growth & Investment Plan that would result in a successful financial strategy for the following 5 years. The Startup Store successfully pulled the presentation together, and is proud to have been able to support Bernie and his team of superstars at The Aspire Group. Forbes has since awarded The Aspire Group with “2015 Top Ten Best Organizations to Work for in Sports.”
